Why Guernsey ?
There is always something to do in Guernsey – just look at the Diary of Events on our tourist board’s website www.visitguernsey.com ! It seems a bit redundant for us to even try to equal the quality of information, videos and photography that this site offers therefore we feel the best thing we can do is suggest you take a look! You will however find all their key information in your apartments on arrival.
Why Les Residences ?
Having lived all over the island we love the central, but green and peaceful, location. Nowhere is very far and yet you can walk out of the gate onto a leafy lane flanked with the ubiquitous Guernsey granite walls and cottages and do a circular walk involving only a couple of minutes on a “main” road. There are copies of guided circular walks from your door-step in the apartments – including details of refreshment stops and points of interest en route.
Outside of the “rush-hour” (about 30 minutes from 0800-0830!) you can be in Town in 10-12 minutes and at the airport in the same. There is a bus-stop only 10 minutes’ walk away so if you are going to Herm or Sark for the day the boats are easily accessible without parking worries.
There is a pub with great food about 15 minutes’ walk from Les Residences, other options only slightly further afield, and a Co-Op Locale, where you can buy a litre of milk or do a week’s shopping, less than a 5 minute drive away. Indeed if you’re not in a hurry and need something it’s only about 15 minutes on foot.
We have slept in all of our apartments. We’re fussy about our beds, pillows, sheets, showers and so on. Therefore we have paid attention to these details. Similarly the outdoor furniture is comfortable and plentiful – nothing’s worse than a lovely terrace and uncomfortable metal chairs!
As crazy as it may sound we do stay in our suites for a break! We’ve also hosted four sets of friends for a “sleepover” and I block-booked them for my 50th in 2013! We hope we’ll get to welcome you too!
